The Holiday Cocktail – How to Make It

We present a home-style interpretation of a beverage featured on the seasonal cocktail list. It's a large-volume pre-mixed that's loaded with tastes associated with Christmas time, making it excellent for a holiday party. Save the extra citrus syrup for morning drinks, desserts, or to mix more rounds of bikinis.

Makes enough for 10 people

For the Clementine Syrup (makes 750ml)

300ml recently pressed clementine juice
200ml newly squeezed lemon juice
500g fine sugar

To make the Cocktail (produces 850ml, enough for 10)

400ml decent vodka
100ml dry gin
150ml peach-flavored liqueur
200ml citrus syrup (see above)
Fresh cranberries, to garnish
Mandarin essential oil, to finish

Method

To prepare the Cordial: Put the listed items inside a saucepan, bring to a simmer, agitating so the sugar melts. After that, turn off the stove and let it to cool down fully. Transfer into a sealable bottle, seal and store chilled, where it will keep for around a month.

For the Premix: Pour the specified spirits and syrup into one sizeable container, leave to sit for one hour, then pass it through preferably using a fine cloth, making it perfectly clear.

To serve: Add 85ml of the premix into a mixing glass filled with ice, and stir carefully for one minute to chill. Pour to a cold coupe glass or equivalent, decorate with some cranberries and complete it with a light spray of mandarin oil over the drink.
